Principles
Calm software for busy people.
Uktupus is used all day by people who have a business to run. The design gets out of the way so the work stands out.
01
Work comes first
Uktupus opens on what needs doing today, not on a menu of modules.
02
Dense, not cramped
Built for people who work in it all day. More data per screen, calmly arranged.
03
One accent
A single terracotta marks the main action. Everything else stays quiet.
04
Flat and honest
No gradients and no glossy effects. Borders and space create the structure.
In practice
- Work comes first. The home screen, Today, lists what needs action: approvals, overdue items, exceptions. Modules open from a single switcher in the top bar, not from a wall of tiles.
- Dense, not cramped. 14px text, 13px tables and 36px rows show more on screen without feeling tight.
- One accent. Terracotta (
#D64F2C) marks the main action and the current place. Status colours are only for status. Everything else is neutral. - Flat and honest. No gradients, glossy buttons or decorative shadows. Only things that float, like menus and dialogs, cast a shadow.
- Signature on actions, not on data. The parallelogram slant belongs on things you click (buttons, tabs, active nav). Cards, tables, inputs and badges stay square so dense ERP data stays readable.
